Mesencephalothalamic Lacunar Syndrome Due to Neurocysticercosis

Abstract

|
A 45-year-old male with meningeal neurocysticercosis presented with mesencephalothalamic syndrome as variant of lacunar syndrome. Brain magnetic resonance imaging showed bilateral paramedian thalamic and mesencephalic infarction with cystic
dilatation
of the third ventricle. Cerebrospinal fluid analysis confirmed the diagnosis as it showed active inflammation and positive immunologic reactions to cysticercosis.
